The

Rev. Fr. Mario David Dibie: Bringing hope to the
Nation
STORY BY IFEANYI
IYEGBU, AUGUST 25, 2009
_____________________________
Rev. Fr. Mario David Dibie, a catholic
priest and missionary based at Issele-Uku is rapidly
changing the lives of Nigerians everywhere and
bringing hope to the poor; the destitute and the
spiritually challenged. Fr. Mario David Dibie is the
director Emmaus School of Evangelization and also the
Director of Retreats, Lumen Christ Family at
Issele-Uku Diocese. Fr. Dibie was ordained in 1999 and
he was later appointed assistant Director of Emmaus
School of Evangelization at All Saints Parish, Onicha
Ugbo. His commitment to serve the people even more was
found when he was appointed Director of Retreats and
Mission which in turn grew to the weekly Tuesday for
prayers and counseling groups at Shepherd Chapel at
Issele-Uku.
The group grew very rapidly and soon the center could no
longer contain the congregation. Fr. Dibie named the
Tuesday prayer group the Lumen Christi family in honor
of S.S. Peter and Paul.
Among the major Lumen Christi Family projects at
Issele-Uku under Fr. Dibie are: The Grotto, the Good
Shepherd Chapel, Widows Grant, House Project, and the
Establishment of Zonal Centers.
The Lumen Christi Family Campus also contains a
massive prayer hall that seats over five thousand
worshipers at a time. During my visit to the
facility, the Holy Father conducted me round the
campus and I was awed with what God is doing
at Issele-Uku through Fr. Dibie.
Fr. Mario David Dibie is accomplishing all these
through his dynamic and spiritual approach to the
salvation of his vast congregation by conducting
weekly Tuesday re-newel prayer groups and soul
enriched sessions. People from all over Nigeria come
to Fr. Mario Dibie to seek counseling, salvation and
blessings. The Lumen Christi Family retreat campus is
a hub of prayer activities all week long at
Issele-Uku. Fr. Dibie believes not only in the
spiritual needs of his flocks, he also believes that
the poor, the destitute and the deprived can benefit
from formal educational training through character
building. Fr. Dibie has therefore engaged his
resources in massive infrastructural projects at the
Lumen Christi family retreat campus where he is
building an ultra modern primary and secondary schools
to train the future leaders of Nigeria and beyond. One
of Fr. Mario Dibies projects is the scholarship
scheme that benefits students and their parents. These
schools are equipped with donated computers and a
modern library. The Lumen Christi Family Campus also
contains a massive prayer hall that seats over five
thousand worshipers at a time. During my visit to the
facility, the Holy Father conducted me round the
campus and I was awed with what God is doing at
Issele-Uku through Fr. Dibie.
This campus also houses the beautiful prayer alters and
temples, an- apian -way like straight road that leads to
the campus, a male and female dorms for the boarding
students, a psychiatric hospital for the mentally
challenged, and an agricultural project where basic food
stuff are locally grown for use by the students and the
staff. A massive electric generator supplies power to
the entire campus making it very conducive to the
worshippers and a great place to learn.
Other charity projects undertaken by Fr. Dibie and the
Lumen Christi Family include material and financial
benefits to indigent widows, distribution of food to the
less privileged and more.
Fr. Mario Dibie stated that his work and projects are
funded through donations from his congregation and the
generosity of the power of God. Fr.Dibie is a spiritual
trail blazer and his vision is nothing short of divine.
His power to inspire the people through prayers is a
national cause for hope and salvation. This young priest
is the hope of the suffering underdogs of our time and
Fr. Dibie is a living testimony for what God can do
through mankind. I encourage everyone to visit this
dynamic Catholic Priest and community leader at Lumen
Christi Family Retreat anytime you visit Issele-Uku in
Delta State.
