DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

Gen. Fred B. Chijuka (Rtd) to receive
the Issele-Uku Association
of North America, Inc.
most prestigious award: Passes on the Batton of leadership to the new
elected IDU officials.
Retired army Brig. Gen. Fred Bini
Chijuka, chairman ofthe Issele-Uku Development Union, (2000-2008)
formally handed over the leadership of IDU to the newly elected
Chairman, Prof. P.I. Osiegbu at a farewell ceremony held at the Unity
Hall, Issele-Uku on December 28, 2008. Gen. Chijuka, the longest
serving Chairman in the history of the IDU took up the leadership
ofIDU in 2000 and served the people ofIssele-Uku for eight years.
Under Gen. Chijuka's leadership, Issele-Uku witnessed tremendous
political and economic achievements. The people of Issele-Uku will
ever remain indebted to Gen. Chijuka for sharing of himself and
serving the people with outstanding devotion. And for the harmony he
brought to the Issele-Uku community by bringing warring factions
together, for fighting to bring structural developments to our
community, and above all, for promoting Issele-Uku in the most
positive light, we thank Gen. Chijuka for his sense of community
organization.
The Issele-Uku Association of North
America, Inc.
will honor Gen. Chijuka this year (2009) as the
first recipient of the
Distinguished Service
Award
during the Association's bi-annual convention in Austin, Texas for his
outstanding and selfless service to our community.
Gen.
Chijuka gave a valedictory and farewell speech to the
people of Issele-Uku on December 28, 2008.

BANQUET
The chief of Defense Staff (CDS), Air
Chief Marshal Paul Dike was recently hosted to a State Banquet in Asaba by
the Governor and people of Delta State, Nigeria. The event capyured in
